The market is on the street behind my office so I usually meander over on Thursday mornings and grab a few things. My favorite time to go is Saturday. There is more variety. The market opens at 7 and I like to go soon after; it's not so crowded and there is an ample supply of farm goodies. Local musicians perform, the smell of kettle corn fills the air. It's not unusual to run into friends and family.
There is no comparison between fresh-from-the-farm produce and buying produce in the stores. We are so fortunate to enjoy nature's bounty in such a convenient venue!

WOW, now that's an impressive farm stand. I was just in awe of the bins of different kinds of cherry tomatoes, unbelievable. We are now getting CA strawberries. Ours from S FL begin to come in around Jan but now all we are getting are from CA. Beautiful post. Makes me want to make a trip to our veggie market tomorrow morning.

Thank you, Carolyn!
DeleteWow, you certainly have a far better farmers market than anything around my area! I wanted to scoop of some of the many colored grape tomatoes...they are so gorgeous. And your prices are more than reasonable for fruit and veggies right off the farm.
ReplyDeleteHave a great week.
Yes, we are so blessed! Thank you
